About Dr. Reynold Hazelwood
Pastor Reynold Hazelwood has had the privilege of serving the local church in almost every department. One of the highlights of his lay ministry is leading some fifty souls to the Lord Jesus Christ in a single evangelistic series. Pastor Hazelwood is a graduate in Elementary Education from the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad, 1981 and Ministerial Theology from Oakwood University, Alabama U.S.A.,1999.
He holds a Master of Theological Studies from Tyndale University and Seminary in Toronto, Canada where he also received the Victor Adrian award in Christian Apologetics and Missions in 2008.
In 2012 pastor Hazelwood received a graduate diploma from Oakwood University in Adventist Muslim Relations studies.
He also holds a Doctor of Ministry Degree in Leadership Development from Tyndale University and Seminary in Toronto and successfully defended his dissertation on “Equipping Seventh-day Adventist to build relationships with Muslims.”
In July 2017 he was certified by Newbold College of Higher Education in England and the Global Centre of Seventh-day Adventist as an International Coach in Adventist Muslim Relations.
Additionally he holds diplomas in Construction Technology from John Donaldson Technical Institute in Trinidad and Tobago and in Curriculum Development in Industrial Education and Principles of Vocational/Technical and Adult Education from the University of Wisconsin, Wisconsin, U.S.A. He spent over 16 years teaching both at the Elementary and High School level in Trinidad. Pastor Hazelwood holds many awards and citations from the American Scholars Honors Society and Alpha Chi National Honor Society. He has the distinction of being listed as an All American Scholar and on the National Deans List 1997.
Pastor Hazelwood was married in 1986 to the wonderful Vanda Hazelwood, who is also a graduate of the University of the Southern Caribbean, Trinidad and Tobago, Sheridan College and York University, Ontario, Canada. Vanda is a provincially certified Elementary Teacher and Early Childhood Educator. God has blessed them with three wonderful daughters, Revanna, Reverne and Reanne all graduates of Oakwood University. They all use their music to spread the gospel.
In October of 1999, Pastor Hazelwood accepted a call to the Ontario Conference and served as the Associate Pastor of the Ruth/Brampton District under Pastor Winston Hurlock. During that time many precious souls were led to Christ. In January of 2002 he was asked to serve as the senior pastor for the Ruth Seventh-day Adventist Church in North Brampton. On January 9, 2010, Pastor Hazelwood embarked upon a new chapter in ministry when he became the senior pastor at Kingsview Village Seventh-day Adventist Church in Etobicoke.
In September of 2016 Dr. Hazelwood was asked to serve as the coordinator for Adventist Muslims Relations Ministry in Ontario, a new ministry was birthed.
In November of 2016 he was asked to serve as the lead Pastor of the Brampton Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Pastor Hazelwood successfully coordinated the first Greater Toronto Area Youth Evangelistic Program in 2003 called “Connect 2 Life.” In 2004 he again successfully coordinated one of the largest evangelistic programs in the west end of the GTA. This program involving thirteen churches was known as “Reach 4 Life Ministries.” In 2008 he was again asked to coordinate another major evangelistic program with “Reach 4 Life Ministries” in the western region of the Greater Toronto Area with tremendous success.
Pastor Hazelwood served as the Chair of the Toronto Adventist District School Board, (TADSB) a position he held for 4 years: 2003 to 2007. Pastor Hazelwood also served as the President of the Greater Toronto Area Ministerium of Seventh-day Adventists.
Pastor Hazelwood was ordained to gospel ministry on July 13, 2002. He loves the Lord very much and enjoys evangelism. It is his desire to use every possible method that God gives him to spread the good news of salvation. His favourite Bible texts are Psalm 119:11. “ Thy word have I hid in my heart that I may not sin against thee” and Philippians 4:13, which states “ I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
